Black Yoke collaborates with like minded creatives in an effort to support a creative culture. A creative culture that can explicitly and positively appreciate the contribution of Black culture on all creative mediums. Black Yoke first met Sayvon Friend, Aka Von Canon, while he flashed his camera at the She Woke Show. Hosted at Ski Club Gallery
Jahmel Reynolds first caught our eye with his creative influence in a 7 part cinematic LP, The Emcee Memoirs. This visual X hip hop memoir displays his overflowing artistry, unbeholded to main stream film, and digital rhetoric.
Black Yoke presented: She Woke, an all woman showcase featuring Milwaukee creatives Xeroine(Yessica Jimenez), LaNia Sproles, Sam Becker and the creator of Twhat Zine(a MKE feminist zine). This dope showcase represented the perspectives of women, their creativity, and their power.
